Emerald Kalama Chemical is a divison of Emerald Performance Materials LCC. Emerald produces and markets technologically advanced specialty chemical products for a broad range of food and industrial applications. Headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Emerald has four business units, eight operations and approximately 700 employees. European Head Offices is Located in Geleen (NL) and production plant is situated in Rotterdam Botlek.
The Area Sales Managers responsibilities are:
To shape and execute the sales of Emerald Kalama Chemical in Europe in his area of responsibility according to the Strategic Plans, Business Plans, Budget and the boundaries (volume/pricing) set by management.
To propose an annual sales budget, sales plan and account plans.
To execute the approved plan/budget and to optimize the short and long term turnover sales/distribution costs and margin of the BU in a sustainable manner.
To monitor and report on relevant market developments: market size, (potential) customers, applications, legislation, competition, sales-channels.
Account management for each customer including relationship management, contract management, implementation of pricing strategy , new business development, customer related business intelligence.
New business/account prospecting.
To ensure efficient and smooth cooperation in the global sales team (7 sales managers) as well as with other disciplines in the organization like logistics, production, control.
Sales call planning, sales calls, call reports, account management, distributor management, forecast generation and all related tasks for the defined chemicals businesses.
Realize the budget and optimize the financial result regarding turnover, sales volumes and margin. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for the execution of the sales plan for his/her area based on the strategic plan for the product line Flavour & Fragrance Products.
Job mix is approximately 70% - 75% sales, 10% technical and 15%-20% marketing. Traveling time approx. 40% (2 days a week)
You will report directly to the Vice President Product line: Fragrances & Flavors in the US.
Academic degree (Master)
6 - 10 years experience in an operational international B2B commercial job with a track record of successful achievements in growing businesses.
Experience in the field of Flavors and Fragrance Products is a must.
Experience in working with Distributors is preferred
Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary business environment
Fluent in English (oral and in writing)
Skills to effectively interface with executives, production operators, R&D; and professional people in manufacturing, purchasing and customer service.
Basic chemical/technical knowledge/affinity
Capable of preparing sales presentations (power point)
Understanding of PTO (Process To Order) and OTC (Order To cash) processes
Salary indication depends on experience/background.
